Simantri is a program created by the Bali provincial government that aims to support efforts to create a clean and green and made Bali as "organic island" that support tourism. Simantri oriented farming without waste (zero-waste), and produces 4 F (food, feed, fertilizer and fuel / biogas).
Simantri developing a pilot model in the acceleration of technology transfer-oriented to produce agricultural products with the techno-ecological approach.According to Governor Pastika, Simantri program integrates the cultivation of crops and livestock, crop waste is processed for animal feed and animal waste used as organic fertilizer (solid and liquid), biopesticide and biogas.
Explained that Simantri developed since 2009 and until the end of 2010 has established 50 units. For the future, Bali Province strive every year to set up 100 units Simantri. Simantri program also is an effort to realize the commitment to national development by way of prioritizing the development of agriculture and environmental preservation based on local wisdom.
